2023 International Championship

Held on 10/29/2023 in the city of São Paulo, the Seiwakai International Combat Karate Championship was attended by representatives from Kuwait, Russia, Uruguay, Chile and Brazil.

This event was marked by several very special moments.

First of all, by the presence of the founding Master Kancho Ademir da Costa, who arrived in Brazil in early October to organize and prepare every detail that made the event perfect in every sense.

Right at the start of the event, the athletes made their official entrance to the sound of the traditional Japanese Taiko group, a unique detail never before seen at a Karate event. Following the speeches by the authorities, a remarkable moment was the moving tribute paid by Kancho Ademir da Costa to Mr. Massato Shimizu, who for years accompanied him and helped Seiwakai grow.

On that occasion, the Shimizu family, who were attending the event, was presented with a plaque as a token of gratitude and appreciation for the years of friendship and all the support given to Seiwakai.

The fights took place in three areas simultaneously, with the raised central area hosting the main categories.

In every category we saw displays of great technical quality and strength and, most importantly, we showed discipline and respect between opponents, with no conduct outside the rules and etiquette of Seiwakai Karate being tolerated.

A major new feature was the live broadcast on YouTube, reaching viewers in dozens of countries and taking Seiwakai Karate to the whole world. Thousands of viewers from all over the world followed every detail through the links made available free of charge by the organization.

We are certain that this event marked a great return after years without an international competition.

We thank the Shihans, Directors, Advisors, Teachers and helpers who did a great job; the sponsors and supporters, without whose great help this grand event would not have been possible; and also the São Paulo City Hall for its support.

Now we look forward to the next Seiwakai International Combat Karate Championship, already scheduled for 2026 in Kuwait, with the promise of being the biggest event of all time.
